Jaffo is located just after south Tel Aviv, and today has been gentrified into a series of upsacle residences and artist communities, all built in Jerusalem limestone, facing the tiny ancient harbor. But there are also a number of the orriginal neighborhoods still about with throngs of people. The Jaffo Shouk is really an open air market selling everything from antiques to junk, with many fine furniture shops, rugs and industrial supply houses. Not to be missed for sure are the many restaurants and cafes. Near the port, fishermen still make the catch, and one can promenade along out to the breakers.
